National Society Daughters of the American Revolution - Sweetwater Chapter, Douglasville, GA
Welcome

Welcome to the Sweetwater Chapter National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR)! Our chapter is located in Douglasville, Georgia, west of Atlanta.

The Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) is a historical, educational, and patriotic non-profit organization that seeks to perpetuate the memory and spirit of the men and women who achieved American Independence; to carry out the injunction of Washington in his farewell address to the American people "to promote, as an object of primary importance, institutions for the general diffusion of knowledge, thus developing an enlightened public opinion..."; to cherish, maintain, and extend the institutions of American freedom; to foster true patriotism and love of country; and to aid in securing for mankind all the blessings of liberty.

With members worldwide, the DAR includes/has included Daughters who blaze trails, save lives, serve their nation, and even travel in space!

While we may not all share the experience of winning a Nobel Peace Prize, as DAR Daughter Jane Addams did, and while we may not walk the "Red Carpet" in Hollywood, as Daughters Ginger Rogers and Bo Derek have, each DAR member has shared in at least one special experience: the proud experience of completing the documentation and application process necessary for recognition as a Daughter of the American Revolution, by which we proudly recognize our patriot ancestors for their roles in support of the American Revolutionary cause!

We hope you will enjoy exploring our site and learning more about "Today's DAR."

Please consider yourself invited to visit a meeting and get to know us. We certainly look forward to meeting you!
